Student Privacy Notice

This short notice explains StackMentor privacy in simpler language. It supplements the full Privacy Policy.
Your school or bootcamp may access StackMentor through a standard plan or a Custom Program Plan. The plan changes access and billing, not the privacy roles described in the School Data Processing Addendum.
Who can use StackMentor?
StackMentor is for people aged 13 or older. We do not knowingly accept users under 13. If your school or bootcamp gives you access, follow its rules and ask a teacher or parent if you have questions.
What may be sent?
A Mentor request may include your question, selected code, nearby code, file names and paths, opened editor files, assignment details, course material, and earlier messages in that chat. Review the context before sending it.
Never send passwords, private keys, access tokens, certificates, or other secrets.
Who can see it?
Teachers currently cannot see your individual Mentor conversation. StackMentor may access service records when needed for support, security, reliability, legal compliance, or deletion.
How is AI used?
Relevant request content is sent through OpenRouter to configured model providers using zero-data-retention routing. StackMentor does not use your content for advertising, AI training, profiling, or unrelated research.
Questions and deletion
Ask your school or bootcamp about its use of StackMentor. You can also contact support@stackmentor.dev about privacy, access, or deletion. We may need to verify your identity or work with the institution that controls the school data.
